50 RANDOM FACTS ABOUT ME.

Hey ladies! So on my first ever post I said that I wanted to find a tag to tell you guys a bit more about me & even though this isn't the most interesting in my opinion, I thought I'd give it a whirl! I feel like I won't be able to do 50 things about me so sorry if I bore you to tears haha!


1. I'm going to be 20 this year & everyone saying 'you are half way to 40' freaks me the eff out.
So finally done! That was a lot harder than I thought and took a lot longer than I thought! I hope you made it to the end with me!

2. I've been with my boyfriend for two years in August after he chatted me up in work. Romantic huh!
3. I have had the same group of best friends since I was 15.
4. My mum is my best friend, we spend so much time together that we end up doing the lame movie cliche and finish each others sentences.
5. I am so so proud to be Scottish, I think we are well cool. However, since I can remember I've always wanted to move to NYC, I've been 6 times and I am honestly in love with a city.
6. I have family all over the world, NYC, london, texas & the worst.. Australia. My big cousin moved there in January 2012 & it was horrendous. We have been inseparable my whole life.
7. Watching videos on youtube of kids & animals doing funny things can keep me amused for hours. I have watched the 3 year old sprinkle thief & the 'BOOKS FOR CHRISTMAS!' videos like 500 times haha.
8. This summer will mark two years since I finished high school. I would go back in a heart beat, best days of my life.
9. My first holiday with out my family was to the quiet town of Malia... when I was 17
10.  I go to university & study 'Event Management' I don't even know why. If I didn't love my uni pals I think I would have quit by now! 


11. Sometimes I can act like an absolute weirdo, but I don't really care.
12. I LOVE cheesy 80s & 90s pop. It makes me so happy. 
13. My favourite song of all time is Nelly-Ride Wit Me. Closely followed by Genesis - Invisible Touch (understanding the name now!) and these have stayed the top two since I was about 13.
14. I want to study abroad for a couple of months and experience other cultures.
15. I am OBSESSED with Channing Tatum. Like properly obsessed..
16. Even though I am only 19, I started a bucket list a good few years ago.
17. I fancy an ob-seen amount of celebrities, Ashton Kutcher, Justin Timberlake, Seann William Scott.. I could be here for days.
18. I am a batman nerd. Have seen all the films a billion times. Can never decide my favourite
19. I want to be married and moved out of my parents house by 25. Possible? In this recession?
20. I have strong views about things, but I won't try and shove them down anyone's throat and will listen to other people's point of views. 


21. If there is one person in the world I could meet it would be without a doubt, Adam Sandler. I have every film he has made and seen them all at least ten times. Everyone who knows me knows my obession. 
22. I completely love the toy story films, Woody is my favourite ever film character & have 6 different Woody dolls in my room!
23. Even with these loves, my favourite film is Beaches. Bette Midler is my idol.
24. My favourite artists are Taylor Swift, Katy Perry, Rihanna & Eminem.
25. My favourite band is The Summer Set (if you haven't heard them check them out!)
26.I have a joint favourite tv show, Sabrina the teenage witch & Saved by the bell. I constantly have my boxsets of them on! (Sorry bf!) but I also love, the walking dead, eastenders & my new fave - my mad fat diary!
27.I love Nandos! so cliche these days but I can't help myself! I could add peri peri to everything.
28. After being bullied in primary and the start of high school my views on my weight are seriously messed up. But it does make me feel better that I'm now skinnier than my bullies. (probably a bad thing but I can't help it)
29. When I was 14, I taught myself how to play guitar & wrote my own songs. I don't do this anymore which is sad.
30. I am extremely terrified of sting-rays. One time in Florida  I got into a pool in Discovery Cove & didn't realise it was filled with them until I was in fully. I had to get carried to the side by my cousin because I nearly passed out with fear! 


31. One of my pet hates is when you are saying something & someone just butts in and starts talking over you. So rude!
32. I have been driving for 3 years this year. I have a gorgeous new corsa that I called Gino. After the beautiful chef!
33. Give me a boost bar or dairy milk with crunchie bits and I'm yours for life.
34. I'd love to get married in the church where my parents got married and my grandad's funeral was held. Its not the prettiest at all. But I love sentimental things.
35. I want my first kid to be a boy. No idea why! Just always have.
36. First impressions are really important to me.
37.If I could do anything career wise, it would be a make up artist for sure.
38. The thing I am most attracted to in a guy is broad shoulders. They make me go weak at the knees!
39. I think Robbie Williams is so unbelievably cool.

43. I don't think that footballers should get more money than fire officers, paramedics, armed forces, police officers & hospital staff. Especially when half of them show their true tosser side eventually.
44. I'd rather be naked with gorgeous shoes than have a nice outfit and average shoes.
45. I know every line to Mean Girls and She's the Man.
46. Emma Stone singing 'Pocketful of Sunshine' in Easy A is one of my all time favourite movie moments.
47. I am a gym bunny I love it.
48. Christina Aguilera - Stripped is my favourite ever album.
49. I have three tattoos. One of my foot that I got on my 18th birthday with my best friend who got the same. One on my left ribs that wanted since I was about 15. And one running down the edge of my back. That is my grandad's last marathon number in roman numerals. I got this in Florida. Meaningful tattoos are the best.
50. My rib one is in dedication to the fact I lost the use of my left lung when I was 12 after a bad cold turned into double pneumonia and got worse after a doctor said 'You are over-exaggerating'. It says 'you leave me breathless' which I find really funny. It is a reminder that everything happens for a reason and even though it can stop me doing stuff, it is a part of me. So take with the good and bad and laugh! Always positives!

MAC VIVA GLAM!!

Hey there again my beauts!

This post is just a little review about Mac's Viva Glam 'Nicki 2'

Just incase you are not aware of Mac's 'Viva Glam' history, I will give ya'll a little background info.

Mac Cosmetics have their own charity 'MAC AIDS Fund'. Which was founded to help support people with HIV/AIDS and help prevent HIV/AIDS through the use of education programs.  For people all over the world. & the way that Mac fund their charity is through 'Viva Glam' lipsticks & lipglosses. These products are promoted by different celebrities, from the likes of Elton John, Christina Aguilera, Boy George, Cyndi Lauper, Lady Gaga & most recently Nicki Minaj!

Unlike most products that donate to charity, every single penny that is spent buying your Viva Glam product, goes to the Mac Aids Fund. So you spend £14 on a Viva Glam lipstick, thats £14 straight in the fund!

Supporting a great cause and getting a new lipstick out of it? Who could say no?!

Anyway... after that looooooong intro, lets get into the review!

NICKI 2 VIVA GLAM LIPSTICK

 

Ok, my thoughts on this lipstick are pretty simple! I just love it!

In Mac's 'Spring Forecast '13' Lip Palette, there was a gorgeous lavender shade that I absolutely lusted over! But it came with 5 other lip colours that I pretty much had in my Mac lipstick collection so I decided not to spend the money when I already had them. Lavender is going to be a big lip colour in spring 2013!

It is an amplified finish, which means it is a bold colour & nice and creamy when applied to the lips. I have found that with amplified shades, they don't have the best wear time. This lasted around 5 hours before I had to reapply, not too bad!

I've seen some people say that they are worried it isn't actually lavender but a pale pink shade, so on my hand I swatched it just to show how lavender it is!

Left  to Right - 'Up the Amp' - a gorgeous deep purple

'Snob' - a pale pink colour, that I feel is the closest natural pink colour for me.

& finally 'Nicki 2' - definitely lavender! you can see here it isn't pink or purple but right in the middle. UGH ITS SO GORGEOUS!!

All I can say is that, if you have been considering this lipstick, dive in & go for it!

It is a big bold and different that usual but it is just lovely on the lips.

VALENTINES DAY LOOK!

Hey my beauties! As you all will obviously know, it was valentines day yesterday.

I had a lovely evening with my boyfriend, we just stayed in but he made me my favourite meal for dinner.

Valentine's is such a good day to show people you love them, even if you are single, you can't beat a night out with your girlfriends!

One of my favourite things about Valentine's (as with most occasions!) is to shake up my usual make up a little! I knew for Valentine's I was going to either go for Red or Pink incorporated into my look, but as we were just staying home I went for the more subtle pink!

I really liked the finished result so I thought why not share it with you guys!

These are the shadows I used! At first I primed my eyes with Urban Decay's EyeShadow Primer Potion. 

To save the any boring reading I'll just tell you guys what I done in step form!

Step 1. I applied Mac's 'All that glitters' in the inner corner of my eye

Step 2. I put Mac's 'Woodkinked' on the outer half of my eye.

Step 3. To blend the two colours together I used a blending blush with Mac's gorgeous 'Amber Lights' which really goes with the two.

Step 4. I used my mac 219 pencil brush (my favourite brush ever) with Mac's 'Espresso' (my favourite ever colour) in the crease. I used a pencil brush as I wanted quite a defined line.

Step 5. I used a pale pink with my mac 224 blending brush just slightly above my crease. The pale pink is from my BH 120 1st edition palette. It is the second one in the top row in my picture!

Step 6. I lined my upper lash line with Mac's fludline gel liner in 'Blacktrack'

Step 7. I lined my waterline and under my waterline with my Maybelline Color Tattoo in 'Pink Gold' this is the most gorgous colour tattoo I own!

Step 8. I finished the look by using Mac's 'Ricepaper' to highlight underneath my brow bone!

  I hope this pic does it justice! I took this pic in the afternoon when we had extreme snow outside so no matter what I did with lighting, the white outside threw it off!

As you can see in this one, the pale pink is subtle but so gorgeous with the brown!

GRAMMYS 2013.

Hey dolls! If there is one award show I actually pay attention to it is the grammys. As most people, I lurrrrrve music. But again as many people.. I love seeing what people wear!

I feel like with the Grammys, the celebrities dress up but are more edgier and daring than other awards! I absolutely love the fact that the celebrities wear basically told to cover up for the event. NICE TRY ORGANISERS!

So obviously these are just my opinions on what these celebrities are wearing!

MY FAVES.

KATY PERRY.

Ok, so I have seen in other blogs that this dress is really spliting views! Personally I love it! I think Katy's Gucci Mint Green dress is just absolutely stunning on her! I think the colour is amazing on her and really makes a change from her usual bright and bold coloured outfits! I feel like this is such a statement piece so I love the fact shes went for minimal accessories. I know shes got a bit of cheeky boobage on show but I say 'GUUUURRLLL! If you got it flaunt it!' Katy has everything else completely covered so is that little cheeky boobage so bad? No way! I've seen 14 year old girls way worse the second a little bit of sun hits the UK. YOU GO KATY YOU SEXY LADY YOU!

RIHANNA 

I love this dress. Simple! I loved Rihanna's black dress last year, which was beautiful but this really takes the cake! This Azzedine Alaia dress is the perfect colour for Rih Rih, she is working that red like no other! The red lip just ties the whole look together. I love the see through-ish middle part that leads into the wrap top. I feel it is perfect for Rihanna, it makes the formal dress that little bit sexier! I also love the easy look waves that Rihanna has went for, I feel like a fancier hairstyle would have just made it very OTT

FOUR FOR YOU RIH RIH YOU GO RIH RIH!

BEYONCE

Can Queen B do anything wrong?! In my eyes? No way. i LOVE that Sasha Fierce never wore a dress! Only she could pull that off at such a big event! Monochrome is going to be huge in S/S 13! And Beyonce has hit the nail on the head with it! It isn't too much or in you're face. And the slits at the arms just make it that little bit more glam! The bold lip injects a bit of colour into the look. Perfect!

GO ROCK YA TROUSERS BEY!

And with the best.. always comes the worst.

ADELE

This is one dress I have seen on many worst dress lists. SORRY ADELE. But with that apology I can't help but wonder what on earth she was thinking. Adele has become well known for her plain black - however still gorgeous - dress. She should have stuck with it. They just scream old lady curtains to me. I feel bad but.. Curtains Adele. Curtain.

JENNIFER LOPEZ

I love Jenny from the Block, and if i look like this at 43, I will be the happiest chick on the block. But I don't really get this dress. Jennifer screams sexy in anything, so she could have skipped on this random one arm in, one leg in ensemble. The dress itself, in my opinion is very plain, obviously excluding the missing arm and leg. I just don't think it does anything for Jenny.

FLORENCE WELCH

This is without a doubt in my opinion the worst dress of the night. WOW. Words are not enough. I DON'T UNDERSTAND. It looks like lyrca and has random spikes coming out of it. Our little Florence looks like an extra from Jurassic Park due to them strange spikes! I can't wrap my mind around it.

HELLOOOO BLOGGERS!

Hey Hey fellow bloggers!

I thought for my first blog post I would do a little introduction to me and what this little space will be about! YAY!

OKKK.. So first and foremost my name is Gemma, a 19 year old gal from Glasgow with an EXTREME love of.. what else? BEAUTY? Ironic huh? A young woman blogging about beauty? That is so rare these days. NAAAAAT.

BUTTTT whatever, one of my favourite things to do in my spare time is read other beauty/fashion blogs and see what other people with the same interest as me think about stuff! So I thought why not start it up yourself Gemzo, so here I am. And if you are reading this, I THANK YOU. & hope that I haven't bored you already!

Well, I'm gonna wrap this up now as I never really know what to say about myself. It was so much easier spouting on about yourself on bebo remember? When you ran out of characters before you had said everything you wanted to say so you had to delete those sly song lyric digs and hints! Anyway I'm going on again! I will try and find an old 'About Me' Tag to tell you lovely jubbly people more about me but for now I'm afraid to say this is the end :(!
